Year 4 teacher Tonia Lack said it was a great way to inspire students to learn about the impact of rubbish on the school environment while playing an active role in our community.
"At Victoria Point State School, our environmental captains and ecomarines along with our students will be working with their buddy classes to clean up the school," she said.
"This will be our eighth year supporting this environmental campaign.
"At VPSS, we recycle our paper and our ecomarines are collecting poppers for a 10 cents refund.
"The Ecomarines are working on implementing an environmental initiative into the school to encourage student enthusiasm and understanding of our local environmental issues."
Ms Lack said it was a day when students and teachers worked together to clean up the school.
"There will be specific areas for year levels to clean. If you would like to be involved, join a clean up on Sunday, March 1," she said.
