Swimmer Alicia Coutts defended her Australian women's 100m butterfly title, booking a ticket to the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in July.
The 26-year-old former Birkdale resident won in 57.70sec, behind her best time for the event of 57.18sec.
It was also behind the world record of 55.98sec set by the US's Dana Vollmer in July 2012.
Speaking after the race on Wednesday night, Alicia said she was disappointed with the time.
"I get nervous with any international meet because if you don't get first or second you normally don't get to go,'' she said.
"The time was not quite what I hoped for but I am glad I won.''
After the London Olympics in 2012, where she bagged five gold medals and announced her engagement, Alicia toyed with the idea of retiring, but she postponed her wedding to pursue her dream of competing at a third Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
