An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy from Bulimba will undergo the police drug diversion program after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs at the scene.
Dunwich Police Station Officer in Charge Sergeant Darren Scanlan warned young drivers to consider the consequences of their actions after a P-plater was fined for carrying eight people in his five-seat vehicle at Point Lookout.
The 17-year-old Gordon Park boy was caught while travelling on George Nothling Drive at Point Lookout about 3.15pm on Sunday.
"This highlights the care free attitude some young drivers and passengers have without thinking of the possible consequences of their actions," Sergeant Scanlan said.
"Four passengers did not have seat belts on and if the vehicle was involved in a crash the consequences could have been fatal, as it is one of the fatal five.
"They were all young people finishing grade 12 this year and visitors to the island. I have had the unpleasant task of advising parents that their child has died in a crash previously and it is something I hope never to repeat as it does affect us too."
A further seven motorists were caught speeding on North Stradbroke Island's beaches and roads over the weekend.
Five of those were caught on Friday afternoon travelling between 75km/h and 85km/h in a 60km/h zone on Main Beach at Point Lookout.
Police also nabbed a 41-year-old Amity woman and a 63-year-old Point Lookout woman for travelling at 108km/h and 116km/h respectively in an 80km zone on East Coast Road.
