Prep students at Vienna Woods State School are enjoying a brand new playground thanks to state government funding.
Work on the playground was completed last week with prep students eager to get a feel for the new equipment.
Capalaba MP Don Brown secured the funding. Mr Brown said he was over the moon to have delivered the playground for the school.
"I know this playground has been a priority for the school for a while and I've been doing all I can to secure the dollars needed," he said.
"The $80,000 funding has ensured a fantastic facility which will not only be a lot of fun for the kids, but will also provide opportunities for the kids' growth and development of physical and social skills.
"There's a rock scaling wall, a double slide, net bridge, tree climber and lots more - a preppie's idea of play heaven.
"It's fantastic to see the smiles on the kids faces when they see the new playground," Mr Brown said.
Mr Brown said that the Palaszczuk government was delivering a record $1.4 billion in state school infrastructure this financial year.
"This investment is helping to drive the Queensland economy and is supporting an estimated 4,245 full-time jobs through the delivery of important infrastructure projects right across the state.
"I'm proud to be part of a government which is investing in the future of our schools and delivering the facilities our students need to make the most of their education," he said.
